Final Fantasy: From the best to the worst

Yesterday Kotaku asked its readers to rate the Final Fantasy games from best to worst. Leaving out spin-offs or the MMOs. I believe I never posted my ranked list before so here it goes (based on those I actually played).

  1. Final Fantasy 10 (PS2)
  2. Final Fantasy 12 (Ps2)
  3. Final Fantasy 8 (PC)
  4. Final Fantasy 7 (PC)
  5. Final Fantasy 9 (PS1)
  6. Final Fantasy 3 (DS)
  7. Final Fantasy 13-2 (PS3)
  8. Final Fantasy 10-2 (PS2)
  9. Final Fantasy 13 (PS3)

Guild Wars 2 hits the three million milestone

Congratulations ArenaNet on three million sold Guild Wars 2 copies. Quite an achievement already.

I sincerely congratulate ArenaNet on this success. Still the game falls short for me. The levelling curve is too fast. The journey should be an experience and not a rush towards end game. The balancing in dungeons feels like it is not existing at all. Due to the auto scaling there is no sense of power no matter your level. The worst of all is the (compared to GW1) inferior storytelling. The story is weak and becomes gradually worse and there are no cut scenes like in GW1 which made your character a living piece of the story.

The game is not horrible by any means but also not as good as hyped as it is.

Guild Wars: BdSK vs. Ilsundur, Lord of Fire

Yesterday I was browsing trough my old Fraps records and found this piece from Guild Wars. I quickly slapped it together in the Windows Movie Maker and put it online. Game footage is not edited in any way, quality isn’t very high. Good old days. xD

Final Fantasy XIV: A realm reborn – A new beginning

After “the end of an era” video we got now the treatment of “a new beginning”. It is mostly content we already saw in the last video but still offers a few new scenes at the end. It still gives me shivers every time I watch it.
